The TROPOS Warehousing and Inventory module goes beyond
the scope of ordinary inventory management systems to meet the needs of
a wide range of manufacturers from process to ‘lean’ discrete.
Whether you produce or use discrete products and components, bulk liquids,
powders and ingredients, foodstuffs or high value potent chemicals, they
can be managed for optimum production efficiency and levels of customer
service.
As an integral component of the TROPOS ERP solution, Warehousing
and Inventory works with the TROPOS Sales and Distribution, Process and
Materials Planning, Purchasing, Quality and Finance modules to ensure
your inventory is managed in the optimal way for your business. Inventory
planning parameters allow the best policies to be defined according to
whether you make to stock/forecast or order.
With TROPOS, you are confident that production will get
the materials it needs to run smoothly and that the warehouse keeps the
right amount of product on hand to meet customer demands. Precise tracking
and categorising ensure that stock is of the quality and type you expect.
If supplies are low, the system points to alternate materials so production
can continue uninterrupted and avoid costly delays. Cost variances are
calculated automatically and posted to the general ledger.
Inventory can be held at the warehouse, store, location,
lot and pallet level. Easy-to-use facilities ensure that you know exactly
what you have in stock. You define each warehouse by storage characteristics
and each store by type - production, sales, materials, laboratory, or
maintenance. You can also define bins, tanks, and other individual storage
locations by status, capacity, flow rates in and out, material restrictions,
temperature, compatibility, and other characteristics. For irregularly
shaped containers, fill height tables measure weight and volume and can
be linked to temperature correction tables.
