Once production orders and schedules have been raised
by the TROPOS Process and Materials Planning modules, the Production Monitoring
module is used to track progress against the production plan.
The schedule of production tasks can be viewed by production
line, schedule, production order or resource in the form of work-to-lists
which highlight which tasks are available to start.
Tasks can be interactively replanned to take account of
local knowledge on the shop floor so that production activities can be
optimised. All changes are automatically fed back to planning for visibility.
TROPOS tracks the progress against the production plan
at a level you decide. You can record or backflush material and resource
consumption and the production of finished products, co-products, by-products,
recycled material, and waste. This recording can be performed by date,
shift or physical time against a schedule, order or individual process
stage including logging partial completions of intermediate products.
Where materials are backflushed, completion recording at any level will
automatically record the usage of the appropriate amount of material.
TROPOS produces physical and financial performance reports
at intervals chosen by you. These reports analyse yields and highlight
exceptional variances. They also compare standard and actual production
rates, use percentages, and utilisation levels. You decide which resources,
production lines, processes, or departments to monitor. TROPOS supports
data input from process controllers; automatic test equipment, meters
and weigh-scales, bar code readers, laser scanners, and magnetic stripe
readers. Standard TROPOS documentation prints bar codes allowing quick
and easy monitoring of inventory and production.
