The Bill of Material and Formula management capabilities provided as part of the TROPOS Resources, Products and Processes module, provide a full range of capabilities to support both discrete and process manufacturing environments. Importantly these work in an integrated way with the TROPOS process/routing management capabilities. Depending on your type of business, you may define your products bill of material or formula and then add the process definition, or alternatively, you may create an integrated process model in one step.

TROPOS supports multi-stage bills of material or formula with input and output materials being defined by process stage. This provides a more accurate definition of material requirements supporting planning and production line-side call-offs and enables you to reduce the number of levels in your bill of materials or formula and cut your supply chain lead-times.

A simple ‘Scratch Pad’ is provided for development to build up new products prior to formal version control and release to production. Products and materials can be classified for fast searching enabling redundancy to be reduced. Bills of material and formula are fully version controlled, the introduction of new and changed products being managed using Product Change Notes. Units of measure and conversion factors are user defined enabling you to maintain the right level of accuracy whilst working in both your and your business partners preferred units.
