The TROPOS DataMart

The TROPOS DataMart is a Microsoft SQL Server database designed to manage TROPOS data for reporting and analysis purposes. This data is held separately to improve performance, and is synchronised with the TROPOS transaction database to maintain integrity. It contains the originating transaction as well as summarised information, improving performance and simplifying report design. The data can also hold information from other sources, which means reports can be generated and managed from a single point. Plain English names are used to describe the data, making it easy to integrate with your information delivery system.

Ready to Use

The TROPOS DataMart is supplied as a pre-built database, containing data structures, built-in data summaries and analysis dimensions for each of the main TROPOS functional areas. We recommend that the TROPOS DataMart is installed on a dedicated reporting server to minimise load on the TROPOS transactional server. Once installed, TROPOS replicates the data from the TROPOS database to the TROPOS DataMart. After that, data is maintained by net replication for efficiency, which means only new data and data changes are copied across. Optionally the data can be reloaded at any time.

Report Templates

Report templates and standard report packs for SQL Server 2005 are available to help you deploy your TROPOS DataMart and start accessing information quickly. Currently these include templates for Sales Analysis, Production Orders and Stock Movements, and report packs for CODA Financials and HMRC for dutiable goods.
